Wraps made with high fibre tortilla bread have many benefits over sandwiches made with regular bread. Most diets will restrict your intake of regular bread, however high fibre wraps offer a more healthy alternative to bread, and contain less calories. They have all the benefits of high fibre foods, but without the disadvantages of being high in carbohydrates.

Deli Roast- Beef Wraps

Deli Roast Beef Wrap Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup of fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/3 cup low fat mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 4 – 7 inch whole wheat tortillas (10 – 25cm)
  • 1/2 pound roast beef, sliced deli style (225g)
  • 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups of lettuce, shredded

Directions

  1. Combine the basil, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper in a small bowl
  2. Spread the mix evenly on the tortillas
  3. Top each tortilla with a quarter of the roast beef, tomatoes, and lettuce
  4. Roll up into a wrap
  5. Cut each wrap in half on a slight diagonal
