  • Non-stick vegetable oil spray
  • 2 cups of shelled pepitas
  • ⅓ cup of sugar
  • 1 large egg white, beaten until frothy
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  1. Preheat the oven to 350
  2. Spray the baking sheet with non-stick spray
  3. Mix the pepitas and the other ingredients in medium bowl
  4. Stir in ¼ teaspoon to ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, depending on how spicy you like it
  5. Spread the pepitas in a single layer on a baking sheet
  6. Bake until the pepitas are golden and dry, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes
  7. Remove from the oven
  8. Separate the petpitas with a fork while still warm
  9. Allow to Cool
