Spiced and Sugared Pepitas Recipe

- Non-stick vegetable oil spray
- 2 cups of shelled pepitas
- ⅓ cup of sugar
- 1 large egg white, beaten until frothy
- 1 tablespoon of chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ¼ to ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Preheat the oven to 350
- Spray the baking sheet with non-stick spray
- Mix the pepitas and the other ingredients in medium bowl
- Stir in ¼ teaspoon to ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, depending on how spicy you like it
- Spread the pepitas in a single layer on a baking sheet
- Bake until the pepitas are golden and dry, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes
- Remove from the oven
- Separate the petpitas with a fork while still warm
- Allow to Cool
