Video: Stretching & Isometrics
In this video, our fitness instructor demonstrates a number of great stretching exercises, as well as Isometric Contractions. The following exercises are included in the video.
Isometric Contraction Exercises
Isometric contractions are exercises that don’t lengthen or shorten the muscle tissue. Instead you hold a static position where the muscles are working, but not through a full range of motion. This is a great way to increase your muscle tone.
- Hold a Squat (1 min)
- Hold a Lunge (30 sec each side)
- 1-Leg Skating (30 sec on each leg)
- Superman or Superwoman (30 sec)

Stretching is great for cooling down and increasing the blood flow to your muscles after your workout. It also helps your muscles recuperate faster, and keeps your joints and muscles safe. Hold each stretch for a minimum of 10 seconds.
- Lower Back Stretch
- Ab Stretch
- Hip Flexors Stretch
- Quad Stretch
- Hamstrings
- Upper Back
- Chest and Biceps
- Trapezius Stretch (Upper Back & Neck)
