Hemp Seed and Avocado Salad Recipe

Hemp is an incredibly versatile plant, and has many uses not only as an industrial product or dare we say it… a narcotic, but also in food. Hemp also happens to be one of the earliest domesticated plants known to man.
As a food source, hemp can be consumed in a number of different ways. It can be eaten raw, sprouted, ground into a meal, made into hemp milk (similar to soy milk), used for baking and even prepared as tea.
Hemp seed is also great in salad, such as this Hemp Seed and Avocado Salad recipe below.

Hemp Seed and Avocado Salad
Recipe
- 5 leaves red fire lettuce – torn into small pieces
- ¼ cup hemp hearts
- 1 chopped avocado
- 1 chopped tomato
- ½ cup chopped cucumber
- ¼ cup raisins
- Juice of half a lemon
- 5 basil leaves chopped
- 5 cilantro leaves chopped
- 1 Tbsp Nutritional yeast
- ¼ cup hemp seed oil 1 tsp sea salt
- Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl
