Smoked Salmon & Chives Pâté

If you’ve been following us for a while, you will already know that smoked salmon has many health benefits. And if you didn’t know, well, now you do! It’s true, smoked salmon contains Omega-3 oils which help fight off coronary heart disease. Additionally smoked salmon can also help with asthma, psoriasis, certain cancers and arthritis, and it is high in Vitamin E, which makes it a great antioxidant.

If you are watching your weight, you’ll also be happy to know that smoked salmon is very low in carbohydrates, which makes it great for weight loss.

But enough about the benefits, let’s get to the recipe, so you can start including smoked salmon in your diet right away!

Smoked Salmon & Chives Pâté Recipe


  • 2 x 8 ounce packages of fat-free cream cheese
  • 4 ounces of flaked smoked salmon
  • 2 tablespoons of minced fresh chives
  • 3 tablespoons of chopped fresh dill
  • 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • A Dash of Tabasco or hot sauce


  1. Mix the flaked salmon in a bowl with the fat-free cream cheese, chives, dill, hot sauce and lemon juice. Stir well.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours to let the flavours draw into each other.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with fat-free crackers.


This Smoked Salmon Pate goes really well with the cracked black pepper type of crackers.
